What it looks like
Footie tricks » Ronaldo chop
How?
“The basis for the Ronaldo chop is a simple tap to the ball with your back foot, the idea being to trick the opposition into where you’re putting the ball. To execute, dribble the ball forwards and then jump slightly, over the ball, pushing it forward with your back foot as you land. You should end up pushing it between your feet, at an angle to the way you’re standing and the opposition player expects. That’s the idea, anyway!”
Why?
“The Ronaldo chop is a nifty way of getting past a defender with the ball. Because of the positioning of your body and feet, the defender will (hopefully) not realise what you’re doing with the ball until it is too late. This is a fairly simple move that is harder to pull off under pressure from a defender, so practise like mad until it feels natural, then you can drop it into your game.”
