What it looks like
Footie tricks » Leonardo
How?
“The Leonardo is all about bouncing the ball off one foot to deflect its path, tricking the opposition. To practise the manoeuvre, quickly pass the ball between your right and left feet on the spot. Once this starts to come naturally, try turning the end pass into a forward pass. Then once that is mastered, try doing the quick one-two between your feet at the end of a dribbling run. Doing this around a defender is the ultimate goal. Good luck!”
Why?
“The Leonardo is yet another way of getting the ball past the defence during a game. As with the stepover, it can be used by all players on the pitch but is most often used by midfielders and strikers trying to dribble the ball up the pitch.”
